Description
We aim to launch a new Special Interest Group (SIG) dedicated to exploring the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the European research and education network landscape.
This SIG aims to serve as a collaborative platform for NREN representatives and researchers to delve into how AI can revolutionize network operations and services offered by GÉANT and NRENs across Europe.
Key Discussion Areas for our future SIG:
• Enhanced Cybersecurity: Explore how AI can be leveraged to bolster network security, proactively identify and mitigate threats, and streamline incident response.
• Intelligent Above-the-Net Services: Investigate the potential for AI to personalize and optimize research and education services, enabling advanced collaboration tools and content delivery.
• AI-Powered Network Management: Discuss how AI can automate network management tasks, optimize resource allocation, and predict potential network issues, ensuring peak performance and efficiency.
• Next-Generation Network Services: Identify how AI can contribute to the development and deployment of innovative network services, catering to the evolving needs of the research and education community.
• Skill Development: Exploring technical and skills impacts associated with deploying AI in NRENs infrastructures and services.
