Speaker
Description
In the past decade, there have been significant changes in how the network management plane is used, with many of these changes challenging long held assumptions around network isolation. There are several reasons for this including configuration automation, instrumentation/telemetry, and more dynamic traffic engineering - all of which are necessary for running a modern network. This talk looks at how these changes influence the way we think about security architecture, as well as who needs to be involved in discussions around usability and security.
What will the TNC audience take away from your talk?
The primary take away from this talk is an appreciation of how recent changes in how the network control plane is used change a number of fundamental assumptions about how it should be secured and who needs to be involved in that discussion.
