Description

The GÉANT Security Innovation Lab is a new community-driven initiative designed to accelerate cybersecurity innovation across Europe's research and education networking ecosystem. It provides a shared space for NRENs and other GÉANT members to develop, test, and showcase security research projects - ranging from early-stage ideas to advanced prototypes requiring realistic network conditions. This talk introduces the Lab, its dual structure, its current development status, and how community members can actively participate. The goal is clear: expand the Research & Education security innovation landscape by bringing more projects together and increasing collaboration across the GÉANT community. The session first explains the vision and purpose of the GÉANT Security Innovation Lab as an open incubator for security research. Attendees will learn how the Lab creates value through two complementary components: The Soft and the Hard Lab.
