Description
Quantum security is becoming a critical component of digital sovereignty, but for NRENs and government institutions, sovereignty depends on operational control over secure infrastructure—not policy alone. As quantum threats evolve, the challenge is shifting from adoption to deployment: how to integrate quantum-safe technologies into existing networks in a scalable and operationally viable way. This session explores how quantum security is moving from testbeds into production NREN environments, focusing on:
- Layered architecture: CV-QKD for key generation, interoperable KMS (ETSI), and encryption (MACsec/IPsec).
- Network integration: deployment within L2/L3 environments over existing DWDM infrastructure.
- Operational readiness: integration into NOC workflows, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Sovereignty enablers: open standards and vendor independence.
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to operationalise quantum-safe infrastructure today, and how CV-QKD complements existing security strategies to enable sovereign, future-proof communications.
