Description
Libraries are core to the R&E mission—they provide access to knowledge that powers the academic enterprise. Yet in cybersecurity terms, they remain one of its least integrated components. While universities and NRENs have advanced identity and incident-response programs, libraries often operate alongside these efforts, relying on access methodologies that offer limited assurance and put reliable access to research at risk. This session explores how we might bridge federations, universities, and libraries to build a more cohesive trust fabric. Drawing on lessons from the field, presenters from the academic library community will share opportunities for meaningful alignment and invite discussion on further collaboration.
What will the TNC audience take away from your talk?
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand the current barriers and progress toward federated IAM adoption within academic libraries.
- Recognize how national R&E networks and identity federations might extend trust and assurance frameworks to include library systems and service providers.
