Description

Data once inaccessible or single-use can now drive research and service development in the R&E community. Different initiatives explore collecting, sharing, and transforming data into machine-actionable datasets. Yet key questions remain: how can NRENs enable research use, what use cases exist, and what can we learn together?
This session brings together five perspectives to examine how data-sharing fosters collaboration and supports data-driven innovation across the R&E community. Bringing together selected data-sharing initiatives from the community - a fibre-sensing project, CESNET’s Network Datasets, MetrANOVA, the ROBIN service, and the GÉANT FAIR Data Portal - the objective of this session is to foster a community discussion on shared experiences, best-practices, challenges, and future projects.

What will the TNC audience take away from your talk?

During this session, the audience will be invited to share challenges on handling and sharing data in our community. The session brings together different initiatives which all deal with collecting and sharing data, emphasizing the various ways of handling and sharing data in this community. Important questions will be discussed with the participation of the audience.
In line with the TNC26 theme, we have to embrace the changes that come with the rise of data-driven insights and service development. The session will offer examples of how different NRENs are handling data and insights into the challenges and opportunities sharing data holds.
